'CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN': Artisan Center Theater presents Cheaper By The Dozen through Sept. 30 at the theater, 404 E. Pipeline Road in Hurst. Registration for the event begins at 6:30 a.m., followed by the 1-mile Fun Run for children age 12 and under at 8 a.m. The 5K Race itself begins at 8:15a.m. Race day registration fees are $20 for the 5K Race and $10 for the 1-mile Fun Run. THOMAS AQUINAS FUN RUN: From the White Rock weekend warriors to the littlest Lakewooders, the St. Thomas Aquinas fun run "The STAmpede" offers everyone something. 8 a.m. Featuring a 5K for runners, a one-mile race for walkers, a Toddler Trot and a Diaper Derby for crawlers, the event will be held at the St. Thomas Upper School Campus, adjacent to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 3741 Abrams Road in Dallas. VOLVO OF DALLAS SAIL FAIR IN THE COLONY: The official start of the two-day weekend festival at Stewart Creek Park officially begins. Admission to the Saturday and Sunday festival is free. Activities will feature a two-day Hobie Cat Fleet 23 Showcase Regatta and Mayor's Cup race in which the fastest lake city mayor will be awarded the coveted Mayors' Cup trophy.
